My son is a massive LOTR fan and we have a lot of the LOTR GW figures.
I came across the 3D printed model from Pandem Wargaming here in Sydney and thought. - it looks like Helm's Deep......'I gotta have one of those!'

| The terrain boards |
 |
| The main frontage..lots of work still to do. |
Although it's not an exact replica- it's good enough for our games!
 |
| Taping off the areas where the model will sit on the terrain board |
 |
| Nick laying the terrain ( it's coloured caulking) |
 |
| Water effect being added- a mixture of PVA layers and varnish |
 |
| Water effect still drying. |

| The final table- with all the background cut out. |
Lovely job.

ReplyDeleteThanks John, working wth my son on it was a lot of fun.
Delete3D stuff is amazing nowadays. How long is the model?
ReplyDeleteIt's 1200mm long including the long wall. The MDF board in the pictures are 1200mm x 900mm. It takes up the full length of the 1200mm board.
