Well my SYW Russians were finally ready - 18 months in the making and they were looking to do some damage. Of course, Rossco's Prussians coincidentally just happened to be ready too...funny that how we both manage to get them ready at the same time!
So we picked a scenario from THE BOOK and played it out one afternoon.
THE BOOK!

THE TABLE
Playing these scenarios is always a lot of fun- and this one was no different. The forward position 'B' was held by two guns, two battalions of foot and a Dragoon regiment. Under the Honours of war rules, Ross rolled...and got a 'Ditherer'. Not too much of a disadvantage as he all had to hold the position- but a bad command die roll could see the position abandoned....so Ross positioned himself (the CinC) next to his subordinate to ensure that he held on!
The Prussian Forward position. These guys were very heavily outnumbered.
The arriving reinforcements- Prussian Light Infantry take the lead
The Russian left flank brigade moves first. My deployment actually proved problematic...and as Ross said...I don't think things through....You can see my Cuirassier Brigade in the middle...in column....they really should have been on the extreme end of my line. Light infantry lead the way...I got that part correct.
Prussian forward position.
Prussian reinforcements marching up the path.
Here come my cuirassiers......see next pic......in column...
What a target...TWO regiments of Cuirassiers...in column....advancing straight at Prussian guns...and I couldn't deploy them into line...unless I halted one of my infantry brigades...
Prussians waiting calmly...
Russians moving up
My right hand infantry brigade- putting heavy pressure on the Prussian forward position.
The view from my end of the table. The line of Prussian reinforcements visible at the top end of the table.
The right of the Prussian defensive position- and my Cuirassier with casualties from the Prussian guns...... now in line sweeping past the Prussian position...to find a line of Prussian Cuirassiers ready for them....how did they get there so fast???
Prussian infantry reinforcements deploying behind the hills in support of the Cuirassiers.
Having driven the Prussians off the hill, my infantry found another line of defence.....
The scenario is a great one as the variation caused by the die rolls in movement that the rules require (Honours of War) means that there is no predictability.
We had to call the game a draw as neither side had clear advantage and we were out of time. I held one end of the defensive ridge and the Prussians ( Ross) held the other end. We ran out of time to reach a conclusion...but it was turning into a blood bath. As the attacker I had more casualties....but had pushed him off most of the ridge....but he had considerable forces preparing for a counter-attack.
