Like most gamers I guess I was looking for ways to improve the look of some of my wargame accessories so I was experimenting with AI.
For many of my games (1680-1720) I have used 'special event' cards that add flavour to a game...and create headaches for the players. Most of these were just hand written palm cards. Easy and straight forward.
But then I came across some of the capabilities of AI.....so I tried improving the look.

| Palm cards - for OOBs or Special Events. I had a lot of fun changing photos of my figures into cartoons and comic strips....and then making them into cards. Original pic from my Fraustadt game. |
Adding suitable information...and Voila! Special Event cards with Character!
Russian gun from my Lesnaya game
AI generated version of the picture with the required information inserted!
I just have to get them printed now!....and make sure they are the correct size!
Lots more to do!

Nice stuff John - I have used AI for a couple of different hobby related "things"!
ReplyDeleteThanks Keith- it IS very handy.
DeleteTREMENDOUS! I like using event cards whenever I can justify it or the rues require it but these are on another level. What AI program do you use? Colin
ReplyDeleteThanks Colin. I use copilot. ( https://copilot.microsoft.com/) I click on the 'imagine' link on the left of the screen.
DeleteExcellent.
DeleteYou have set me down a very deep rabbit hole 🤣 I don’t have an ‘imagine’ on my menu
DeleteFascinating! It's given me some great ideas!
ReplyDeleteThanks John- I'm glad it did.
DeleteThey look great. They really add some fun and colour.
ReplyDeleteThanks Richard- I like the idea of replacing my palm cards.
DeleteLove 'em!
ReplyDeleteThanks Ray!
DeleteGreat battle report! The terrain setup looks fantastic. What ruleset are you using?
ReplyDeleteThis brings back memories! I spent countless hours on similar games growing up. Great write-up.
ReplyDeleteThe force composition you chose is really clever. Balancing mobility with hitting power is always the challenge.
